Gone, but not forgotten

Bullterrier kennel

For the first time in a long time we went on holidays with the dogs. We travelled through Czech Republic making many nice visits to friends and family all around.
A special treat for us was a visit to Špindlerův Mlýn where we could enjoy the hospitality of X and Y, who happened to have puppies at the time.

Today Skylark’s Young Laelaps, a.k.a. Pixie, competed in her first show at the Open Show during the Dutch International Bullterrier Weekend.

Sadly she wasn’t placed, but we were very happy with how she behaved in the ring. We are certain she will soon be getting nice results at local shows.
Today Skylark’s Young Laelaps arrived in our home. She was immediately greeted by Daedalus of Laelaps (Deùs).

It is with great pride and joy that we announce the arrival of “Pixie”.

Skylark’s Young Laelaps, which is Pixie’s official kennel name, will be joining us in our home at the beginning of October 2025. Of course more pictures will follow!
As is our tradition, we had a visit from Alice van Kempen when the puppies are about 5 weeks old.
We took the pups with us to a nearby forest and made some lovely scenery pictures there.

We weigh our puppies every day around the same time (+/- 18.00 h) in order to check on their progress. For those of you who are wondering about the downward lines; It is normal for puppies to lose a bit of weight the very first day or two,
All in all we like that we see all the puppies gaining a nice percentage (>10%) of their bodyweight every day.
Sadly we lost one little boy today. He didnt want to drink anymore. We did all we could, but unfortunately we could not save him. We hope he can rest in peace.

It was a long day, and a bit scary in the end, but luckily everything was alright in the end due to a quick trip to the vet. Iphigenia of Laelaps, a.k.a. “Yuki”, has given birth to 7 beautiful puppies!
She had already been in labour all morning and afternoon, but her contractions just weren’t strong enough, so nothing was happening. Ultimately we rushed to the vet and she had to have a C-section.
Mother and pups are doing well. Obviously we haven’t slept much yet, so the pictures aren’t of the best quality. We promise to provide more and better pictures soon!

Today we were at the vet to do an ultrasound in hopes of confirming pregnancy in our bitch Alice for Laelaps Marpet Bull.
We are delighted to announce that we have indeed seen several embryo’s growing inside of her!
For those of you who would like to try and guess the number of puppies we’ll be expecting, feel free to count them in the video below.
